                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The decision of Jimmy Hauk to retire from his duties
    1-2  as superintendent of the Buckholts Independent School District has
    1-3  marked the end of an era for citizens of the district, where he has
    1-4  enjoyed a distinguished career in education that has spanned nearly
    1-5  four decades; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, A product of the local school system himself,
    1-7  Mr. Hauk attended Clarkson's elementary school,  and later was
    1-8  graduated from C. H. Yoe High School; after college, he joined the
    1-9  faculty of Buckholts High School and helped countless students to
   1-10  achieve their best as a talented instructor, coach, and principal
   1-11  at the school for many years before being promoted to the post of
   1-12  district superintendent in 1975; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, In this vital role, he has provided outstanding
   1-14  leadership to the school district and to residents of the
   1-15  community, who have in turn expressed their deep admiration of him
   1-16  by establishing a scholarship fund in his honor and christening the
   1-17  remodeled Buckholts Badger stadium "The Jim Hauk Field"; truly a
   1-18  pillar of his community, Jimmy Hauk is indeed deserving of special
   1-19  praise and recognition for his outstanding contributions to public
   1-20  education in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby commend Jimmy Hauk for his exemplary service to
   1-23  our state as an educator and extend warmest best wishes to him for
   1-24  continued happiness and success; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-2  prepared for Mr. Hauk as an expression of highest regard by the
    2-3  Texas House of Representatives.
