H.R. No. 1121 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 the Sesquicentennial of Statehood Cattle Drive, a charitable event 1-3 the proceeds of which will be donated to the M. D. Anderson Cancer 1-4 Center in Houston; and 1-5 WHEREAS, This worthy event will be held from June 5 through 1-6 August 10, 1995, during which time participants will traverse the 1-7 state from San Antonio to Amarillo, paying homage to the great 1-8 Texas tradition of the cattle drive as well as the cattle 1-9 industry's vital contribution to the economy of the Lone Star 1-10 State; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Many other exciting attractions are planned to 1-12 coincide with the cattle drive, including chuckwagon supper shows, 1-13 a concert, and a golf tournament; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Those individuals who give freely of their time and 1-15 talents to benefit their fellow citizens are an inspiration to all 1-16 who know them, and the significant contributions of the organizers 1-17 and volunteers of this unique charitable event are indeed worthy of 1-18 special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 1-20 Legislature hereby commend the organizers and volunteers of the 1-21 Sesquicentennial of Statehood Cattle Drive and wish them great 1-22 success with this admirable venture; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-24 prepared for the organizers of the Sesquicentennial of Statehood 2-1 Cattle Drive as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of 2-2 Representatives.
