H.R. No. 1125 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor 1-2 the National Association of Hispanic Firefighters and the Texas 1-3 Association of Hispanic Firefighters on the occasion of the 1995 1-4 national convention; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Since the inception of these commendable 1-6 organizations, members have labored tirelessly to expand the number 1-7 of Hispanic firefighters employed throughout the state and nation 1-8 as well as to improve the overall quality of fire protection for 1-9 all; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Endowed with the spirit of self-sacrifice, 1-11 firefighters willingly place themselves in harm's way each day to 1-12 protect their fellow citizens, and association members have earned 1-13 the respect and admiration of their colleagues within the 1-14 firefighting profession by demonstrating unflinching bravery, 1-15 unsurpassed standards of professionalism, and strong devotion to 1-16 duty; and 1-17 WHEREAS, The exceptional Hispanic men and women who serve 1-18 with distinction as firefighters are worthy role models to future 1-19 generations of Hispanic children, who may one day choose to follow 1-20 in their footsteps and take up this demanding, yet essential, 1-21 profession; and 1-22 WHEREAS, Both the National Association of Hispanic 1-23 Firefighters and the Texas Association of Hispanic Firefighters 1-24 have made significant contributions to the well-being of citizens 2-1 nationwide and their many notable achievements in this regard are 2-2 indeed worthy of special legislative recognition; now, therefore, 2-3 be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-5 Legislature hereby honor the National Association of Hispanic 2-6 Firefighters and the Texas Association of Hispanic Firefighters on 2-7 the occasion of the 1995 national convention in Dallas; and, be it 2-8 further 2-9 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-10 prepared for the National Association of Hispanic Firefighters and 2-11 the Texas Association of Hispanic Firefighters as an expression of 2-12 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
