R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, While few athletes are able to realize the dream of
1-2 attaining a state championship, fewer still can marshal the
1-3 dedication and drive needed to repeatedly earn a place atop the
1-4 championship dais; among that elite group is Kacey Warrick of Yoe
1-5 High School, who recently won the 1995 University Interscholastic
1-6 League Class 3A state title in the 1600-meter run; and
1-7 WHEREAS, Although in last place after the first lap of the
1-8 1600-meter competition, this exceptional young athlete, who had
1-9 twice taken top honors in the state cross-country, demonstrated
1-10 true championship heart, coming from behind to take the coveted
1-11 title; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Ms. Warrick also performed well in the 3200-meter
1-13 competition, the event in which she claimed her state championship
1-14 in 1994, earning third-place medalist in that event and adding yet
1-15 another chapter to her storied legacy of athletic excellence; and
1-16 WHEREAS, Kacey Warrick is a tremendous source of pride to the
1-17 students and faculty of Yoe High School as well as her many
1-18 supporters in the community, and her superb athletic
1-19 accomplishments are truly worthy of special legislative praise and
1-20 recognition; now, therefore, be it
1-21 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
1-22 Legislature hereby congratulate Kacey Warrick on winning the 1995
1-23 UIL Class 3A state championship in the 1600-meter run and extend
1-24 sincere best wishes to her for continued success in all future
2-1 endeavors; and, be it further
2-2 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-3 prepared for Ms. Warrick as an expression of high regard by the
2-4 Texas House of Representatives.
