                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, Ms. Valerie's School of Dance has had a positive
    1-2  impact on the lives of countless young men and women and has
    1-3  performed a tremendous public service by instilling confidence,
    1-4  pride, and a sense of achievement in its students; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, For nearly five years, Ms. Valerie's classes in
    1-6  ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, twirling, pointe, pom-pom jazz, and
    1-7  ballet folklorico have provided boys and girls with an opportunity
    1-8  to express themselves artistically; students range in age from
    1-9  three to 18, and this exposure to the exciting and beautiful world
   1-10  of dance has greatly expanded their horizons; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The discipline and dedication that the students put
   1-12  into their lessons are displayed annually at a recital, which will
   1-13  be held this year on July 1, 1995, at the University of Houston's
   1-14  E. Cullen Auditorium; performing on stage before a packed audience,
   1-15  these talented young students will gain poise and self-esteem that
   1-16  will undoubtedly carry over into their personal lives as well; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, By providing young boys and girls with a
   1-18  constructive, nurturing environment and teaching them the positive
   1-19  social values of hard work, cooperation, and respect, Ms. Valerie's
   1-20  School of Dance has greatly benefited the Southeast Houston
   1-21  community and the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-23  Legislature hereby honor Ms. Valerie's School of Dance and extend
   1-24  to its proprietor, Valerie Dunn Meyers, and its teachers and
    2-1  students warmest best wishes for many more years of continued
    2-2  success; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-4  prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the
    2-5  Texas House of Representatives.
