No. 1144 74R14181 BNL-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Martin Luther Roller 1-2 were deeply saddened by the passing of this distinguished gentleman 1-3 on February 25, 1995, at the age of 80; and 1-4 WHEREAS, A former tobacco farmer, Mr. Roller moved to 1-5 Pasadena in 1936 and embarked on a long and rewarding career with 1-6 Shell Oil Company; he was happily married to the lovely Leora 1-7 Frances Chambers Roller for more than 50 years, and their marriage 1-8 was blessed with two cherished children; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Roller was a charter member and deacon of South 1-10 Main Baptist Church, and he put his religious faith into action as 1-11 a tireless volunteer with the Salvation Army, the Boy Scouts of 1-12 America, the Pasadena Police Department, and the Pasadena Volunteer 1-13 Fire Department; this loving and compassionate individual was a 1-14 devoted father, neighbor, friend, and citizen, and although his 1-15 presence will be greatly missed, his spirit will live on in the 1-16 hearts of the many people whose lives he touched; now, therefore, 1-17 be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 1-19 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Martin Luther Roller 1-20 and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his 1-21 son, Charles W. "Bill" Roller; to his daughter, Barbara Fonville; 1-22 to his six grandchildren; to his five great-grandchildren; and to 1-23 all the other friends and relatives of this beloved gentleman; and, 1-24 be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-2 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of 2-3 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Martin 2-4 Luther Roller.
