                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to honor
    1-2  Marsha French, a senior at Texas High School in Texarkana, on
    1-3  winning the 1995 University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 4A
    1-4  state championships in both the shot put and the discus events; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, While few athletes can realize the dream of
    1-6  attaining a state championship, fewer still can marshall the
    1-7  dedication and drive to duplicate such a phenomenal task; in 1995
    1-8  Marsha French joined that elite group by successfully defending her
    1-9  state title in the shot put; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Determined to improve on her fourth place finish in
   1-11  the discus throw in 1994, this multi-faceted athlete displayed true
   1-12  championship heart, overcoming all her competitors to claim her
   1-13  second coveted state title in 1995; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Marsha French's superb athletic accomplishments are
   1-15  a source of tremendous pride to the students and faculty at Texas
   1-16  High School as well as her many supporters in the community and her
   1-17  twin titles are indeed an achievement worthy of special legislative
   1-18  recognition; now, therefore, be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-20  Legislature hereby congratulate Marsha French on winning the 1995
   1-21  UIL Class 4A shot put championship, her second consecutive title in
   1-22  that event, and the 1995 UIL Class 4A discus championship and
   1-23  extend to her best wishes for continued success in all future
   1-24  endeavors; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-2  prepared for Ms. French as an expression of high regard by the
    2-3  Texas House of Representatives.
