                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, On June 1, 1995, the friends and colleagues of Cliff
    1-2  Morton, the chairman of the San Antonio Water System, will join
    1-3  together to pay tribute to this exceptional Texan and to the many
    1-4  years of exemplary service he has devoted to his community and
    1-5  state; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Chairman of the San Antonio Water System since 1992,
    1-7  he has taken bold new steps to ensure that the city's water supply
    1-8  and water quality are protected for future generations, and he has
    1-9  sought to diminish the region's reliance on the Edwards Aquifer; a
   1-10  strong supporter of the 2050 Water Resource Plan, he has been
   1-11  instrumental in the creation of local regulations and state laws
   1-12  designed to protect the Edwards Aquifer as well as San Antonio
   1-13  consumers and also has been recognized throughout the Lone Star
   1-14  State for his leadership on regional water issues; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A former member of the San Antonio City Council,
   1-16  Chairman Morton has worked closely with the Greater San Antonio
   1-17  Chamber of Commerce to ensure the continued growth and vitality of
   1-18  the area's economy; in every facet of his life, both personal and
   1-19  professional, this fine Texan has worked to improve the lives of
   1-20  those around him, and in light of his many extraordinary efforts it
   1-21  is indeed appropriate that he be given special recognition and
   1-22  praise; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-24  Legislature hereby commend San Antonio Water System Chairman Cliff
    2-1  Morton for his many years of outstanding service to the citizens of
    2-2  San Antonio and the State of Texas; and, be it further
    2-3        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-4  prepared for Mr. Morton as an expression of high regard by the
    2-5  Texas House of Representatives.
