                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is proud to
    1-2  designate June 4-10, 1995, as Kelly Air Force Base Week and commend
    1-3  the base for the important service it provides to our country; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Established in 1917, Kelly Air Force Base is a
    1-5  world-class air logistics center and plays a vital role in
    1-6  preserving and maintaining our national defense, supporting the
    1-7  world's largest cargo jet, the C-5 Galaxy, and other military
    1-8  aircraft essential for America's air readiness and superiority; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The base employs some of the best qualified and
   1-10  educated personnel in the military, and together they comprise one
   1-11  of the most ethnically and culturally diverse work forces of any
   1-12  military installation in the country;  in addition, the base boasts
   1-13  one of the best environmental records in the U.S. Department of
   1-14  Defense and has earned national acclaim for its achievements in
   1-15  this regard; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, It is the express desire of the Texas House of
   1-17  Representatives to voice its continued support for Kelly Air Force
   1-18  Base and encourage continued efforts to maintain the positive
   1-19  relationship that the state and federal government and the City of
   1-20  San Antonio have long enjoyed; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
   1-22  Legislature hereby designate the week of June 4-10, 1995, as Kelly
   1-23  Air Force Base Week in recognition of the base's many contributions
   1-24  to this state and nation; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
    2-2  prepared for prominent display at Kelly Air Force Base as an
    2-3  expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
