R E S O L U T I O N
1-1 WHEREAS, The passing of Ozona Selina Dailey Allen on March
1-2 21, 1995, at the age of 85, has brought a great loss to the many
1-3 friends and relatives of this lovely lady; and
1-4 WHEREAS, A native of Washington County, Mrs. Allen was
1-5 educated in Brenham, and she wed Thomas Allen on May 31, 1930; the
1-6 couple enjoyed a deeply fulfilling marriage that was blessed with
1-7 the birth of six children, and over the years their close-knit
1-8 family grew to include numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
1-9 and great-great-grandchildren; and
1-10 WHEREAS, Mrs. Allen was a deeply religious woman and received
1-11 her spiritual strength as a devout member of Salem Baptist Church
1-12 in Wellborn; a warm and gracious lady, she touched the lives of
1-13 many people during her lifetime, and though her presence will be
1-14 deeply missed, her memory will endure in the hearts and minds of
1-15 all those who came to know and love her; now, therefore, be it
1-16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
1-17 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ozona Selina Dailey
1-18 Allen and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
1-19 her sons, Clarence Allen and Sherman Allen; to her daughter,
1-20 Mrs. Tommie D. Chambers; to her brother, Mr. Lloyd Dailey; to her
1-21 sisters, Mrs. Edna Mae Preston and Mrs. Bessie B. Johnson; to her
1-22 25 grandchildren; to her 55 great-grandchildren; to her 13
1-23 great-great-grandchildren; and to her many other friends and
1-24 relatives; and, be it further
2-1 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2-2 prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas
2-3 House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-4 Ozona Selina Dailey Allen.
