No. 1189 74R14327 SAJ-D R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, This year St. Mary's United Methodist Church in 1-2 Houston will celebrate 46 years of faithful service to the 1-3 spiritual needs of its community; and 1-4 WHEREAS, St. Mary's United Methodist Church was founded in 1-5 1949 to meet the spiritual needs of the city's growing Sunnyside 1-6 community; over the years, the church has benefited greatly from 1-7 the service of its many dedicated ministers, and its current 1-8 pastor, the Reverend Thomas E. Wallace, has ushered the church into 1-9 a period of renewed vibrancy and spirituality, implementing new 1-10 ministries directed to the youth of the community; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Throughout its proud history, St. Mary's United 1-12 Methodist Church has offered spiritual leadership and moral 1-13 guidance to the members of its congregation; a source of great 1-14 inspiration, the church stands today as a tribute to the dedication 1-15 and hard work of its members, past and present, who have devoted 1-16 their time, energy, and resources to ensure its continued existence 1-17 as a house of God; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 1-19 Legislature hereby honor St. Mary's United Methodist Church on the 1-20 occasion of its 46th anniversary and extend to its pastor, staff, 1-21 and members best wishes for many more years of success and 1-22 happiness; and, be it further 1-23 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 1-24 prepared for St. Mary's United Methodist Church as an expression of 2-1 high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
