H.R. No. 1199 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Regina Gail Bohmfalk will receive her doctor of 1-2 veterinary medicine degree from Texas A&M University in May 1995, 1-3 and this achievement is indeed worthy of special recognition; and 1-4 WHEREAS, An honors graduate, Dr. Bohmfalk completed her 1-5 bachelor of science degrees in veterinary science and biomedical 1-6 science and her doctorate at Texas A&M University and is returning 1-7 to her hometown of Beaumont to practice; and 1-8 WHEREAS, This outstanding medical student began pursuing her 1-9 career while still in high school, working as a veterinary 1-10 assistant and receptionist for Beaumont Veterinary Associates; 1-11 during her college years, she performed similar duties at the 1-12 Wellborn Road Veterinary Hospital in College Station, and she later 1-13 worked for the university in its pathobiology and biomedical 1-14 science departments; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Despite the demands of balancing school and work, 1-16 Dr. Bohmfalk still found time for extracurricular activities; she 1-17 perfected her musical talents as a singer with both the Brazos 1-18 Valley Chorale and the university's Century Singers, and she 1-19 continues to support the Association of Former Century Singers by 1-20 serving as its secretary/treasurer; and 1-21 WHEREAS, In addition, she has furthered her academic and 1-22 professional development as an active member of the Student 1-23 American Veterinary Medical Association, and she was elected by her 1-24 peers to serve as a representative to this organization during her 2-1 first and fourth years of schooling; Dr. Bohmfalk also has 2-2 demonstrated her concern for the well-being of her community as a 2-3 member of Omega Tau Sigma veterinary service fraternity; and 2-4 WHEREAS, She has been supported in her many endeavors by her 2-5 husband, Michael Bohmfalk, and the rest of her family, which 2-6 includes her parents, Forrest and Helen Rake, her brother and 2-7 sister-in-law, Stewart and Stacey, and her niece Margaret; all of 2-8 her family and friends take great pride in her many 2-9 accomplishments, and the members of this chamber are pleased to 2-10 join them in extending congratulations to Dr. Bohmfalk on this 2-11 auspicious occasion; now, therefore, be it 2-12 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas 2-13 Legislature hereby honor Dr. Regina Gail Bohmfalk on the occasion 2-14 of her graduation from veterinary school and extend to her warmest 2-15 best wishes for success in all her future endeavors; and, be it 2-16 further 2-17 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 2-18 prepared for Dr. Bohmfalk as an expression of high regard by the 2-19 Texas House of Representatives.
