H.R. No. 1236 R E S O L U T I O N 1-1 WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 102, 74th Legislature, Regular 1-2 Session, 1995, has been enrolled; and 1-3 WHEREAS, That Act eliminates the program of state payment of 1-4 a portion of the social security taxes that are paid by state 1-5 employees; and 1-6 WHEREAS, That Act provides for benefit replacement pay for 1-7 current state employees in the amount of the former state payments 1-8 plus an amount equal to additional employee retirement 1-9 contributions; now, therefore, be it 1-10 RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of 1-11 Texas, That, contingent on the becoming law of Senate Bill No. 102, 1-12 the maximum salary provided in House Resolution No. 4, 74th 1-13 Legislature, Regular Session, 1995, for certain employees of the 1-14 house of representatives is increased, effective January 1, 1996, 1-15 by the amount of benefit replacement pay provided by Subchapter H, 1-16 Chapter 659, Government Code, as added by Senate Bill No. 102; and, 1-17 be it further 1-18 RESOLVED, That this increase applies only to house employees 1-19 who are eligible state employees under Section 659.121(2), 1-20 Government Code, as added by Senate Bill No. 102.
