                                  R E S O L U T I O N
    1-1        WHEREAS, The members of the Texas House of Representatives
    1-2  are deeply indebted to Sharon Carter, assistant house
    1-3  parliamentarian, for her dedicated and distinguished service
    1-4  throughout the 74th Legislative Session; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, An esteemed member of the Texas Legislative Council
    1-6  staff for many years, Ms. Carter first worked for the legislature
    1-7  as a sergeant-at-arms, but her intelligence, aptitude, and
    1-8  exceptional abilities quickly earned her promotions to higher
    1-9  levels of service, and she has enjoyed unequivocal success at every
   1-10  level to which she has ascended; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Highly regarded for her insight and professionalism,
   1-12  she currently serves as assistant for legislative affairs at the
   1-13  council, and in addition to her duties in this chamber, she manages
   1-14  a wide range of research projects and renders invaluable service as
   1-15  an aide to executive director Robert I. Kelly; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Many of us have directly benefitted from
   1-17  Ms. Carter's expertise and legislative experience through the
   1-18  orientation programs she coordinates for new members each session,
   1-19  and those informative seminars are yet another way in which she has
   1-20  contributed to the operations of this chamber; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, The ability of the legislature to respond to the
   1-22  exigencies of each legislative session is immeasurably enhanced by
   1-23  the diligent work of those who guide and assist us in the
   1-24  democratic process; in her role as assistant house parliamentarian,
    2-1  Sharon Carter has worked tirelessly to aid us in our efforts and to
    2-2  ensure the smooth functioning of the legislative process, and her
    2-3  service is indeed deserving of special praise and recognition; now,
    2-4  therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 74th Texas
    2-6  Legislature hereby honor Sharon Carter for her outstanding service
    2-7  as assistant house parliamentarian and extend to her warmest best
    2-8  wishes for continued success and happiness in all her endeavors;
    2-9  and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
   2-11  prepared for Ms. Carter as an expression of highest regard by the
   2-12  Texas House of Representatives.
