A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1-1 AN ACT
1-2 relating to the State Conservatorship Board.
1-3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1-4 SECTION 1. Section 2104.011(c), Government Code, is amended
1-5 to read as follows:
1-6 (c) A public officer is eligible <ineligible> to serve on
1-7 the board.
1-8 SECTION 2. Section 2104.013, Government Code, is amended to
1-9 read as follows:
1-10 Sec. 2104.013. Compensation; Expenses. (a) A board member
1-11 may not receive compensation but is entitled to reimbursement for
1-12 actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of
1-13 official duties. A limit provided by appropriation on the amount
1-14 of reimbursement that members of state boards and commissions may
1-15 generally receive does not apply to reimbursement of members of the
1-16 State Conservatorship Board.
1-17 (b) If funds for the purpose of this chapter are not
1-18 appropriated to the board, the expenses of the board shall be paid
1-19 from funds appropriated to the agency under conservatorship.
1-20 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the
1-21 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
1-22 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
1-23 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
1-24 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
2-1 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
2-2 passage, and it is so enacted.
