                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to violence prevention and conflict resolution training
    1-2  for use in juvenile probation.
    1-3        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 141, Human Resources Code,
    1-5  is amended by adding Section 141.0431 to read as follows:
    1-6        Sec. 141.0431.  VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION
    1-7  TRAINING.  The commission shall:
    1-8              (1)  provide training on request to juvenile probation
    1-9  departments and juvenile boards in violence prevention and conflict
   1-10  resolution programs that include discussion of domestic violence
   1-11  and child abuse issues; and
   1-12              (2)  encourage the inclusion of a violence prevention
   1-13  and conflict resolution program as a condition of probation.
   1-14        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect January 1, 1996.
   1-15        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-16  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-17  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-18  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-19  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
