S.B. No. 253
                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to meetings of the Commissioners Court of Harris County.
    1-2        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-3        SECTION 1.  Section 7, Chapter 17, Special Laws, Acts of the
    1-4  33rd Legislature, Regular Session, 1913, is amended to read as
    1-5  follows:
    1-6        Sec. 7.  Meetings of the <The> commissioners' court of Harris
    1-7  county must be in compliance with the requirements <shall meet at
    1-8  the court house of Harris county at 10 o'clock a. m. each Monday,
    1-9  or on such regular day of the week as the court may fix in its
   1-10  rules, as provided in Section 2, and may remain in session until
   1-11  the business before the court is transacted.  This provision is
   1-12  cumulative> of all <other> laws governing the convening of the
   1-13  commissioners' court, including the open meetings law, Chapter 551,
   1-14  Government Code <and no notice of such weekly meetings shall be
   1-15  necessary>.
   1-16        SECTION 2.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-17  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-18  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-19  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-20  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
