                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to designation of United States Highway 290 in Lee County
    1-2  as the Henry G. "Bud" Lehman Highway.
    1-3        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  United States Highway 290 in Lee County is
    1-5  designated as the Henry G. "Bud" Lehman Highway.
    1-6        SECTION 2.  (a)  The Texas Department of Transportation shall
    1-7  design and construct markers to be placed along United States
    1-8  Highway 290 in Lee County indicating its designation as the Henry
    1-9  G. "Bud" Lehman Highway.
   1-10        (b)  The markers shall include the highway number and any
   1-11  other information that the department determines is appropriate.
   1-12        (c)  Markers shall be erected at each point along the highway
   1-13  at which the highway enters Lee County and at intermediate sites
   1-14  that the department determines are appropriate.
   1-15        (d)  The department is responsible for repair and replacement
   1-16  of the markers and for maintenance of the grounds surrounding each
   1-17  marker.
   1-18        (e)  The department may accept grants and donations from
   1-19  individuals and other entities to assist in financing the
   1-20  construction and maintenance of the markers.
   1-21        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-22  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-23  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-24  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
    2-1  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
    2-2  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
    2-3  passage, and it is so enacted.
