Stoker, Jr., Highway. 1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-11 SECTION 1. The portions of Farm-to-Market Road 503 from 1-12 Valera to Farm-to-Market Road 1929 and Farm-to-Market Road 1929 1-13 from Farm-to-Market Road 503 to United States Highway 83 are 1-14 designated the Ray C. Stoker, Jr., Highway. 1-15 SECTION 2. (a) The Texas Department of Transportation shall 1-16 design and construct markers to be placed along Farm-to-Market 1-17 Roads 503 and 1929 indicating their designation as the Ray C. 1-18 Stoker, Jr., Highway. 1-19 (b) The markers shall include the highway number and any 1-20 other information that the department determines is appropriate. 1-21 (c) Markers shall be erected at each end of the highway and 1-22 at intermediate sites that the department determines are 1-23 appropriate. 1-24 (d) The department is responsible for repair and replacement 1-25 of the markers and for maintenance of the grounds surrounding each 1-26 marker. 1-27 (e) The department may accept grants and donations from 1-28 individuals and other entities to assist in financing the 1-29 construction and maintenance of the markers. 1-30 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-31 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-32 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-33 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-34 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-35 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-36 passage, and it is so enacted. 1-37 * * * * *
