    1-7  Amend S.B. No. 775, SECTION 1, Section 118.141(2), by deleting
    1-8  "$20.00" and substituting "the current stop payment fee charged to
    1-9  the county by the county depository" on page 1, line 13 (committee
   1-10  printing page 1, line 24).
   1-11                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
   1-12                                AN ACT
   1-13  relating to the fees a county treasurer may charge for returned and
   1-14  stopped checks.
   1-15        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-16        SECTION 1.  Section 118.141, Local Government Code, is
   1-17  amended to read as follows:
   1-18        Sec. 118.141.  Fee Schedule.  The county treasurer, or
   1-19  another officer who receives revenue in place of the county
   1-20  treasurer, may collect the following fees for services rendered to
   1-21  any person:
   1-22              (1)  Returned check (Sec. 118.142) ........... not less
   1-23  than $15.00 or more than $30.00 <$25.00>
   1-24              (2)  Stop-payment order (Sec. 118.143) ......... $20.00
   1-25  <$15.00>
   1-26              (3)  Copy   of   check   or   other   record
   1-27  (Sec. 118.144) .............................................. $1.00
   1-28        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1995.
   1-29        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-30  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-31  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-32  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-33  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
