No. 915 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT 1-1 relating to the application of the open meetings law to certain 1-2 meetings of the board of directors of an industrial development 1-3 corporation. 1-4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-5 SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 551, Government Code, is 1-6 amended by adding Section 551.085 to read as follows: 1-7 Sec. 551.085. DELIBERATIONS OF INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT 1-8 CORPORATION; CLOSED MEETING. (a) The board of directors of an 1-9 industrial development corporation may conduct a closed meeting to 1-10 deliberate information that pertains to the finances of an 1-11 applicant for assistance from the corporation. 1-12 (b) In this section, "industrial development corporation" 1-13 has the meaning assigned by the Development Corporation Act of 1979 1-14 (Article 5190.6, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes). 1-15 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-16 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-17 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-18 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-19 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, 1-20 and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its 1-21 passage, and it is so enacted.
