                                 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
                                        AN ACT
    1-1  relating to an emergency appropriation to Tarleton State
    1-2  University.
    1-3        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
    1-4        SECTION 1.  In addition to amounts previously appropriated
    1-5  for the current fiscal year, the sum of $740,000 is appropriated
    1-6  for the period ending August 31, 1995, from the general revenue
    1-7  fund to Tarleton State University for expenses incurred in
    1-8  performing repairs to the roofs of 16 educational and general use
    1-9  buildings which were damaged by severe hailstorms in April and May
   1-10  of 1994.
   1-11        SECTION 2.  EMERGENCY.  The importance of this legislation
   1-12  and the crowded conditions of the calendars in both houses create
   1-13  an emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-14  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-15  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-16  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-17  passage, and it is so enacted.
