    1-6                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-7                                AN ACT
    1-8  relating to state employee donations to sick leave pools.
    1-9        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-10        SECTION 1.  Section 661.003, Government Code, is amended by
   1-11  amending Subsection (b) and by adding Subsection (d) to read as
   1-12  follows:
   1-13        (b)  On approval by the pool administrator, an employee may
   1-14  contribute <in a fiscal year at least> one or more <but not more
   1-15  than three> days of the employee's accrued sick leave.
   1-16        (d)  A retiring employee may designate the number of the
   1-17  retiring employee's accrued sick leave hours to be used for
   1-18  retirement credit and the number of the retiring employee's accrued
   1-19  sick leave hours to be donated on retirement to the sick leave
   1-20  pool.
   1-21        SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 1995.
   1-22        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-23  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-24  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-25  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-26  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended.
