No. 1092 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed March 9, 1995; March 14, 1995, read 1-3 first time and referred to Committee on Intergovernmental 1-4 Relations; March 22, 1995, reported favorably by the following 1-5 vote: Yeas 10, Nays 0; March 22, 1995, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to the treatment for tax purposes of property held and 1-9 used for a public purpose under an interlocal contract between 1-10 political subdivisions. 1-11 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-12 SECTION 1. Section 791.013, Government Code, is amended by 1-13 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: 1-14 (c) All property that is held and used for a public purpose 1-15 by the administrative agency or designated local government is 1-16 exempt from or subject to taxation in the same manner as if the 1-17 property were held and used by the participating political 1-18 subdivisions. 1-19 SECTION 2. The importance of this legislation and the 1-20 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-21 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-22 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-23 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. 1-24 * * * * *
