    1-7                         A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
    1-8                                AN ACT
    1-9  relating to authorizing the General Services Commission to purchase
   1-10  certain real property on behalf of the state.
   1-11        BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-12        SECTION 1.  The General Services Commission may purchase, on
   1-13  behalf of the state, the property described by Section 2 of this
   1-14  Act for a purchase price not to exceed $2 million.
   1-15        SECTION 2.  The real property subject to this Act is:
   1-16        ALL THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND BEING ALL OF
   1-17        LOTS 1, 2, 3, 4 AND 5, OUTLOT 41, DIVISION "E" OF THE
   1-18        GOVERNMENT OUTLOTS OF THE CITY OF AUSTIN, TRAVIS
   1-19        COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT RECORDED IN
   1-20        THE GENERAL LAND OFFICE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; SAID
   1-21        LOTS 1, 2, 3, 4 AND 5 BEING CONVEYED TO THE FEDERAL
   1-22        DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION BY SUBSTITUTE TRUSTEE'S
   1-23        DEED RECORDED IN VOLUME 11579, PAGE 111 OF THE REAL
   1-24        PROPERTY RECORDS OF TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND BEING
   1-25        MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AS
   1-26        FOLLOWS:
   1-27        BEGINNING at a 1/2" iron rod found at the intersection of the
   1-28  north right-of-way line of West 17th Street and the west
   1-29  right-of-way line of Colorado Street for the southeast corner and
   1-30  POINT OF BEGINNING of the herein described tract;
   1-31        THENCE, with the north right-of-way line of West 17th Street,
   1-32  the following two (2) courses:
   1-33              (1)  N7037'29"W a distance of 46.01 feet to a 5/8"
   1-34  iron rod found in asphalt at the southwest corner of the above
   1-35  described Lot 5; and
   1-36              (2)  N7039'23"W, pass a punch hole inside an "X" cut
   1-37  at edge of concrete sidewalk at 46.00 feet, and continuing on for a
   1-38  total distance of 230.01 feet to an "X" found on the concrete base
   1-39  of a metal sign at the intersection with the east right-of-way line
   1-40  of Lavaca Street for the southwest corner of this tract;
   1-41        THENCE, with the east right-of-way line of Lavaca Street,
   1-42  N1901'09"E a distance of 127.98 feet to a 1/2" iron rod found in
   1-43  asphalt at the intersection with the south right-of-way line of a
   1-44  twenty (20)-foot alley for the northwest corner of this tract;
   1-45        THENCE, with the south right-of-way line of said twenty
   1-46  (20)-foot alley, the following three (3) courses:
   1-47              (1)  S7047'50"E a distance of 183.99 feet to a 1/2"
   1-48  iron rod found in asphalt at the northwest corner of the above
   1-49  described Lot 4;
   1-50              (2)  S7040'47"E a distance of 46.07 feet to a 1/2"
   1-51  iron rod found in asphalt at the northwest corner of said Lot 5;
   1-52  and
   1-53              (3)  S7010'49"E a distance of 45.96 feet to a hilty
   1-54  nail found in asphalt at the intersection with the west
   1-55  right-of-way line of Colorado Street for the northeast corner of
   1-56  this tract;
   1-57        THENCE, with the west right-of-way line of Colorado Street,
   1-58  S1901'00"W a distance of 128.10 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING,
   1-59  and containing 0.813 acre (35,402 square feet) of land, more or
   1-60  less.
   1-61        SECTION 3.  The importance of this legislation and the
   1-62  crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an
   1-63  emergency and an imperative public necessity that the
   1-64  constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several
   1-65  days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended,
   1-66  and that this Act take effect and be in force from and after its
   1-67  passage, and it is so enacted.
