No. 1477 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed March 13, 1995; March 21, 1995, read 1-3 first time and referred to Committee on Health and Human Services; 1-4 April 27, 1995, reported favorably by the following vote: Yeas 9, 1-5 Nays 0; April 27, 1995, sent to printer.) 1-6 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1-7 AN ACT 1-8 relating to the operation of Class C pharmacies within hospice 1-9 in-patient facilities. 1-10 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-11 SECTION 1. Subdivision (7), Section 5, Texas Pharmacy Act 1-12 (Article 4542a-1, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), is amended to 1-13 read as follows: 1-14 (7) "Class C pharmacy license" or "institutional 1-15 pharmacy license" means a license issued to a pharmacy located in a 1-16 hospital or other in-patient facility that is licensed under 1-17 Chapter 241, Health and Safety Code, or Chapter 6, Texas Mental 1-18 Health Code (Article 5547-1 et seq., Vernon's Texas Civil 1-19 Statutes), to a hospice in-patient facility that is licensed under 1-20 Chapter 142, Health and Safety Code, or to a pharmacy located in a 1-21 hospital maintained or operated by the state. 1-22 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 1995. 1-23 SECTION 3. The importance of this legislation and the 1-24 crowded condition of the calendars in both houses create an 1-25 emergency and an imperative public necessity that the 1-26 constitutional rule requiring bills to be read on three several 1-27 days in each house be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended. 1-28 * * * * *
