No. 7 74R2828 PAN-D CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The future of Texas depends largely on its children, 1-2 for the challenges of tomorrow must be met by the youth of today; 1-3 and 1-4 WHEREAS, Childhood is a special time of life; the character 1-5 and attitudes that lay the foundation for a person's future are 1-6 often formed in these first years; and 1-7 WHEREAS, To nurture children and encourage their growth 1-8 toward a healthy, productive adulthood must be one of the primary 1-9 goals of any society; by extending our love and confidence to the 1-10 new generation, we are investing in one of our state's greatest 1-11 natural resources--our children; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The dedication of a special day to discuss critical 1-13 issues affecting young Texans such as youth crime prevention and 1-14 intervention, child abuse, prenatal health care, and education 1-15 would provide interested individuals with a forum to exchange ideas 1-16 and forge new partnerships, while helping to strengthen and renew 1-17 our shared commitment as responsible adults to work toward the 1-18 improved happiness and welfare of the children of this state; now, 1-19 therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the 74th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-21 hereby designate January 25, 1995, as "Children's Advocacy Day" at 1-22 the Capitol and encourage all concerned Texans to become involved 1-23 and devote themselves to securing a brighter future for our state's 1-24 youngest citizens.
