S.C.R. No. 29
                             SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, The 74th Legislature takes pleasure in honoring the
    1-2  chiropractic profession as it commemorates 100 years of service to
    1-3  the citizens of our nation; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Founded on September 18, 1895, by Daniel David
    1-5  Palmer in Davenport, Iowa, the chiropractic profession will
    1-6  celebrate its centennial on September 18, 1995; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, The profession of chiropractic is now practiced by
    1-8  doctors of chiropractic throughout the world, including 50,000 in
    1-9  the United States of America; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Contemporary standards in chiropractic education,
   1-11  research, and practice have led to ever-broadening acceptance of
   1-12  the benefits of chiropractic health care by the public and the
   1-13  health care community; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Each year millions of Americans now choose
   1-15  chiropractic health care for the restoration and maintenance of
   1-16  their health by natural methods and without the use of drugs or
   1-17  surgery; now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the 74th Legislature hereby recognize the
   1-19  100th anniversary of the founding of the chiropractic profession
   1-20  and the significant contributions that chiropractic has made to the
   1-21  health and welfare of Americans; and, be it further
   1-22        RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for the
   1-23  centennial of this important medical profession as an expression of
    2-1  the admiration and gratitude of the Texas Legislature.
