                             SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, Friday, April 14, 1995, is Good Friday, a Holy Day
    1-2  of great meaning throughout the world; and
    1-3        WHEREAS, It is also Passover, a celebration of freedom from
    1-4  slavery; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Churches of various denominations will hold
    1-6  religious services in observance of the day; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Jewish families around the world will join together
    1-8  for the Passover seder; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, It is proper and desirable that state employees be
   1-10  afforded the opportunity of participating in the religious services
   1-11  and observances of their faith on these occasions; now, therefore,
   1-12  be it
   1-13        RESOLVED by the Senate of the 74th Legislature of the State
   1-14  of Texas, the House of Representatives concurring, That all state
   1-15  departments and agencies be closed for a half day, emergency
   1-16  services excepted, beginning at noon on Friday, April 14, 1995.
