SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1-1 WHEREAS, Mrs. Margaret Mills was appointed to serve as a
1-2 commissioner for the Texas Commission on the Arts by Governor Mark
1-3 White in 1985; and
1-4 WHEREAS, Mrs. Mills served the commission with the utmost
1-5 dignity and diligence as a member, vice chair, and chair; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Since her departure from the commission, Mrs. Mills
1-7 continues to generously share her time and expertise providing
1-8 exemplary leadership as chair of the Cultural Trust Council to
1-9 further the arts and cultural opportunities for all the people of
1-10 Texas; and
1-11 WHEREAS, She has chaired the Cultural Trust Council since its
1-12 inception, worked tirelessly with Senator John Montford, and spent
1-13 hours testifying before the Texas Legislature to secure the Texas
1-14 Cultural Endowment Fund for the people of Texas; and
1-15 WHEREAS, It is appropriate and fitting that we recognize and
1-16 express our appreciation for the extraordinary dedication and
1-17 contributions she has made to the present and future of all the
1-18 people of Texas; now, therefore, be it
1-19 RESOLVED, That, on this first day of June, 1995, the members
1-20 of the Texas Legislature express their sincere and deepest
1-21 gratitude to Mrs. Margaret Mills for her outstanding leadership,
1-22 service, and support of the arts and culture in Texas.
