No. 35 1-2 (In the Senate - Filed February 14, 1995; February 14, 1995, 1-3 read first time and referred to Committee on Education; 1-4 March 2, 1995, reported favorably by the following vote: Yeas 10, 1-5 Nays 0; March 2, 1995, sent to printer.) 1-6 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 1-7 proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing elections for the 1-8 recall of school district trustees. 1-9 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 1-10 SECTION 1. Article VII, Texas Constitution, is amended by 1-11 adding Section 3-c to read as follows: 1-12 Sec. 3-c. A member of the board of trustees of a school 1-13 district may be removed from office by a majority vote of the 1-14 qualified voters of the school district at an election held to 1-15 recall the school district trustee as provided by general law. 1-16 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be 1-17 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 1995. 1-18 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the 1-19 proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing elections 1-20 for the recall of school district trustees." 1-21 * * * * *
