    1-7  Amend S.J.R. No. 40 in Section 3a, Article V, Texas Constitution,
    1-8  in Section 1 of the resolution (introduced version line 7;
    1-9  committee printing line 18), by striking "or at any other" and
   1-10  substituting "or, at the court's discretion, at any other".
   1-11                        SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION
   1-12  proposing a constitutional amendment relating to the place at which
   1-13  the supreme court sits to transact business.
   1-14        BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
   1-15        SECTION 1.  Section 3a, Article V, Texas Constitution, is
   1-16  amended to read as follows:
   1-17        Sec. 3a.  The Supreme Court may sit at any time during the
   1-18  year at the seat of government or at any other location in this
   1-19  state for the transaction of business and each term thereof shall
   1-20  begin and end with each calendar year.
   1-21        SECTION 2.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
   1-22  submitted to the voters at an election to be held on November 7,
   1-23  1995.  The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against
   1-24  the proposition:  "The constitutional amendment authorizing the
   1-25  supreme court to sit to transact business at any location in this
   1-26  state."
