    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Dorothy Fern Darrow
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Shamrock in mourning the loss of Dorothy Fern Darrow who died
    1-7  December 31, 1994; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, She was born in the Dozier Community and graduated
    1-9  from Samnorwood High School; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, She married Ewell E. Darrow in 1938 in
   1-11  Sayre, Oklahoma; together they made a home, raised a family, and
   1-12  enjoyed their life together until his death in 1982; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Devoted to her family, Mrs. Darrow supported her
   1-14  husband in his career and created a loving home for their children;
   1-15  and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, she was an active member of
   1-17  Samnorwood Baptist Church and was the pianist for her church and
   1-18  for Lone Mound Baptist Church; she practiced her faith in her daily
   1-19  life and was always mindful of the blessings she was given; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A talented, hardworking, and resourceful woman of
   1-21  many accomplishments, she was a lady of dignity and charm; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Respected and beloved within the Shamrock community,
   1-23  Mrs. Darrow will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her
    2-1  friends, and her church; she leaves behind a legacy of compassion
    2-2  and commitment that will be cherished by those who knew her; now,
    2-3  therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to her bereaved
    2-6  family:  her sons, Clayton Gerard Darrow, Jimmy Dale Darrow, and
    2-7  John Douglas Darrow; her sisters, Lucille Laycock, Irene Smith, and
    2-8  Nolda Bonds; her brothers, Orville Sechrist and John Sechrist; and
    2-9  her seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and, be it
   2-10  further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-12  members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-13  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-14  in memory of Dorothy Fern Darrow.
