No. 14 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Sarah Rosen 1-5 WHEREAS, The citizens of Lubbock mourned the passing of one 1-6 of the city's well-known businesswomen, Sarah Rosen, who died on 1-7 January 2, 1995, at the age of 88; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Rosen will be remembered for her dedication to 1-9 her family, her friends, and her faith; and 1-10 WHEREAS, A native of Patterson, New Jersey, Sarah was born 1-11 on July 8, 1906, and married Phillip Rosen on November 24, 1927; 1-12 the devoted couple made their home in Lubbock where they opened a 1-13 business and raised their family; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Rosen founded and operated Rosen 1-15 Wholesale Company and were blessed with a long and happy life 1-16 together until his death on November 16, 1989; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A member of Congregation Shaareth Israel, Sarah 1-18 freely gave of her time and abilities to the congregation's 1-19 Sisterhood and was a life member of Hadassah; and 1-20 WHEREAS, She lived her faith in her daily life through her 1-21 volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and the Lighthouse for the 1-22 Blind; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Sarah Rosen was a woman of sound judgment, and 2-1 her wise counsel will be deeply missed; her memory will live on 2-2 in the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved her; now, 2-3 therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family 2-6 of Sarah Rosen: her sons, Allan Rosen and Jack Rosen; her brothers, 2-7 Hy Feingold and Joe Feingold; and her seven grandchildren and eight 2-8 great-grandchildren; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-10 members of her family as an expression of sincere sympathy from the 2-11 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-12 in memory of Sarah Rosen. 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 President of the Senate 2-15 I hereby certify that the above 2-16 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-17 on January 16, 1995, by a rising vote. 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Secretary of the Senate 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Member, Texas Senate
