No. 16 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Jack Harris Kirksey 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-6 of Lorenzo in mourning the loss of Jack Harris Kirksey who died on 1-7 December 31, 1994, at the age of 61; and 1-8 WHEREAS, He was born on April 17, 1933, in Brownfield, Texas; 1-9 he married Wanell Askew on September 10, 1954, and the devoted 1-10 couple was blessed with a happy home life; and 1-11 WHEREAS, This respected gentleman will be remembered for his 1-12 love for the area and especially outdoor life; he earned his living 1-13 as a farmer; and 1-14 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mr. Kirksey was a member of 1-15 the First Baptist Church; and 1-16 WHEREAS, His wise counsel and sound judgment will be 1-17 remembered with gratitude by those who valued his friendship; and 1-18 WHEREAS, A man who enjoyed the company of his fellows, 1-19 Mr. Kirksey was a member of the Domino Hall and the Deaf Club of 1-20 Lubbock; and 1-21 WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of his community, 1-22 Mr. Kirksey will be remembered for his devotion to his family, 1-23 his friends, and his church; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members 2-3 of his family: his wife, Wanell Kirksey; his son, Donald Kirksey; 2-4 his daughter, Lynn Stevens; and his two grandchildren; and, be it 2-5 further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-7 members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-8 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-9 in memory of Jack Harris Kirksey. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the above 2-13 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-14 on January 16, 1995, by a rising vote. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Secretary of the Senate 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Member, Texas Senate
