1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 Ruby Denney
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
1-6 family and many friends of Ruby Denney in mourning her death on
1-7 December 20, 1994, at the age of 89; and
1-8 WHEREAS, She was born in Hunt County and married
1-9 Birtie "Doc" Denney in 1924 in Lubbock; they enjoyed a happy
1-10 home life until his death in 1976; and
1-11 WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Denney supported
1-12 her husband in his career and created a loving home for their
1-13 family; she was a devout Baptist who lived her faith in her daily
1-14 life, recognizing the many blessings that were bestowed on her;
1-15 and
1-16 WHEREAS, Her warmth, helpfulness, and generosity of spirit
1-17 brought a sense of well-being to those around her; and
1-18 WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of her community,
1-19 Mrs. Denney will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her
1-20 friends, and her church; she leaves behind a legacy of compassion
1-21 and commitment that will be cherished by those who knew her; now,
1-22 therefore, be it
1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-1 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere sympathy to the members
2-2 of her family: her sons, Ralph Denney and Glenn Denney; her
2-3 brothers, H. O. Parker, Jr., and Carlos Parker; her sisters,
2-4 Georgia Barber and Zelma Arthur; and her five grandchildren and
2-5 12 great-grandchildren; and, be it further
2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-7 members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
2-8 the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
2-9 do so in memory of Ruby Denney.
