    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                             Gayle Joslin
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the family
    1-6  and many friends of Senior Patrol Officer Gayle Joslin in mourning
    1-7  his death on December 26, 1994, at the age of 47; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born September 17, 1947, he was the only child of
    1-9  Jack Okley and Mary Louise Couch Joslin; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Officer Joslin was an outstanding 25-year veteran
   1-11  of the Austin Police Department; he was one of those courageous men
   1-12  who risk their lives everyday to protect the lives and property of
   1-13  the citizens of Austin; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, This eminent officer was a family man who enjoyed
   1-15  spending time with his wife and daughter; often they spent time
   1-16  camping together; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Officer Joslin was an enthusiastic gardener and
   1-18  liked spending time working in his yard; he also delighted in
   1-19  collecting stamps; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, A dedicated Christian, he was an active member of
   1-21  the South First Baptist Church where he was a deacon and donated
   1-22  a great deal of time to driving the church bus; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, His meritorious work and exemplary devotion to duty
    2-1  earned him the admiration and esteem of those with whom he worked
    2-2  and lived; now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-5  members of his family:  his wife, Jackie F. Joslin; his daughter,
    2-6  Kimberly Ann; and his grandmother, Edna Couch; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-8  loved ones of Officer Gayle Joslin as an expression of the deepest
    2-9  sympathy of the Texas Senate.
