No. 27 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-3 recognize the Plano High School Wildcats for winning the 5A 1-4 Division 1 State Championship in football; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Exhibiting awesome talent and perseverance 1-6 throughout the year, the team players and the coach deserve to be 1-7 proud of their efforts and outstanding performance; their record at 1-8 the end of the regular season was seven to three with the Wildcats 1-9 losing the last two games; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The team was down but rallied in the playoffs; they 1-11 were never behind in points during any of the playoff games; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The Wildcats achieved the impressive goal of winning 1-13 all five playoff games; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership of their coach, 1-15 Gerald Brence, the Wildcats won over some of the most formidable 1-16 teams in the state; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Their capture of the division championship 1-18 demonstrated the team's winning spirit, discipline, and courage; 1-19 they ended the season with a 12-3 record; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The Plano Wildcats' exceptional skills, team unity, 1-21 and respect for the highest ideals of American sportsmanship have 1-22 brought honor to the school and the community; now, therefore, 1-23 be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 74th Legislature, hereby commend the Plano High School Wildcats 2-3 for their championship season and extend best wishes for the 2-4 future; and, be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-6 the Plano High School Wildcats as an expression of esteem from 2-7 the Texas Senate. 2-8 ______________________________________ 2-9 President of the Senate 2-10 I hereby certify that the above 2-11 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-12 on January 16, 1995. 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 Secretary of the Senate 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Member, Texas Senate
