By: Ellis S.R. No. 40 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Jesse C. Romero for his faithful service as a special 1-4 assistant to Senator Rodney Ellis from May of 1994 to January of 1-5 1995; and 1-6 WHEREAS, A graduate of Southwest Texas State University, 1-7 Jesse Romero brought a wealth of experience to his position 1-8 in Senator Ellis's office; he was formerly an intern for the 1-9 Mexican American Legislative Caucus, he organized Southwest 1-10 Voter Registration Education Project activities from 1987 to 1-11 1991, he served as the statewide coordinator of "Adelante Con 1-12 Clinton!," and he served as an administrative assistant to 1-13 Representative Luna; and 1-14 WHEREAS, As a special assistant to Senator Ellis, Mr. Romero 1-15 helped coordinate legislation, organized public hearings for the 1-16 Joint Select Committee on Historically Underutilized Businesses, 1-17 and served as a liaison to the public, civil rights groups, and 1-18 community organizations; and 1-19 WHEREAS, An exceptionally able assistant, Mr. Romero 1-20 skillfully handled the complexities of a legislative office 1-21 position and assisted with the needs of constituents and 1-22 concerned individuals; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Resourceful and dedicated to his work, Jesse Romero 2-1 contributed greatly to the efficiency of the office, and his talent 2-2 and his assistance with legislative procedures will be missed; now, 2-3 therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 74th Legislature, hereby express appreciation to Jesse C.
