    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                             Troy M. Hogue
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
    1-6  of Big Spring in mourning the untimely death of Texas Department
    1-7  of Public Safety Trooper Troy M. Hogue who died in the line of
    1-8  duty on December 30, 1994, at the age of 39; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Born on August 28, 1955, in Big Spring, he graduated
   1-10  from Big Spring High School in 1974; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, He married Goldia Whitaker on April 6, 1974, and
   1-12  together they worked to create a warm and loving home for their
   1-13  family; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, He had received his master's degree in law
   1-15  enforcement and had been a police officer for the City of Big Spring
   1-16  from 1976 to 1988; in 1988 he joined the Texas Department of Public
   1-17  Safety as a Trooper and held the rank of Trooper II at the time of
   1-18  his death; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, This esteemed officer was one of those courageous
   1-20  men who risk their lives every day to protect the lives and
   1-21  communities of our citizens; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Trooper Hogue was a member of
   1-23  the 14th and Main Church of Christ; a dedicated family man, he
    2-1  and his wife had two children; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of his community,
    2-3  Trooper Hogue will be remembered for his devotion to his state,
    2-4  his family, his friends, and his church; his absence will be keenly
    2-5  felt; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-8  members of his bereaved family:  his wife, Goldia Hogue; his son,
    2-9  Bobby Hogue; his daughter, Jennifer Hogue; his parents, Bobby and
   2-10  Della Hogue; and his sisters, Tanis Renard and Trisha Cauble; and,
   2-11  be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-13  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-14  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-15  in memory of Troy M. Hogue.
