    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Margaret Ann Green
    1-5        WHEREAS, The citizens of Lubbock mourned the passing of
    1-6  Margaret Ann Green, one of the city's esteemed residents, who died
    1-7  January 6, 1995, at the age of 72; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A warm and personable lady, Mrs. Green will be
    1-9  remembered for her devotion to her family and her notable
   1-10  contributions to her community; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Born in the State of Washington on November 9, 1922,
   1-12  Mrs. Green had lived in New Mexico for many years; she married
   1-13  John S. Green in Anapra, New Mexico, on March 25, 1957, and the
   1-14  couple also made their home in Hobbs, New Mexico, and Van Horn
   1-15  before moving to Lubbock in 1990; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, An astute businesswoman, Mrs. Green was comanager
   1-17  of the TNM&O Bus Station in Hobbs from 1970 to 1981; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, She took an interest in the lives of those around
   1-19  her and had been active in the New Mexico Women's & Recovery Retreat
   1-20  Three Times a Lady since 1983; she shared her concerns with others
   1-21  as a member of ALANON for 35 years; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Mrs. Green was especially interested in her family
   1-23  history and devoted her time and energies to the Daughters of the
    2-1  American Revolution, the Daughters of the Confederacy, and the
    2-2  Eastern Star; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, She leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
    2-4  that will live in the minds and hearts of her family and all those
    2-5  who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-8  family of Margaret Ann Green:  her husband, John; her son,
    2-9  Sidney F. Baker; her daughters, Nancy Beale and Darla Green; her
   2-10  brothers, James William Perkins and Frank Allen Perkins, Jr.;
   2-11  and her nine grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-12        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-13  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-14  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
   2-15  it do so in memory of Margaret Ann Green.
