    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Rabbi and Mrs. Joseph Radinsky on the occasion of their
    1-4  Chai anniversary which commemorated 18 years of association with
    1-5  United Orthodox Synagogues; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The Men's Club, Sisterhood, and Board of Directors
    1-7  of United Orthodox Synagogues held a seated black tie dinner at
    1-8  Silverman Hall to mark this significant event on November 20, 1994;
    1-9  and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Rabbi Radinsky is a distinguished theologian who
   1-11  earned his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington,
   1-12  his master of arts degree from Harvard University, and his rabbinic
   1-13  degree from Hebrew Theological College in Chicago; he was a Phi Beta
   1-14  Kappa, a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, and an alternate Fulbright winner;
   1-15  and
   1-16        WHEREAS, He was a member of the Executive Board of the
   1-17  Rabbinic Council of America and the National Board of ORT and was
   1-18  Vice-President and Secretary of the Tippecanoe County Ministerial
   1-19  Association and the B'nai B'rith Lodge; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Rabbi Radinsky has contributed greatly to the
   1-21  Jewish community in Houston and has served as Secretary,
   1-22  Vice-President, and President of the Texas Kallah of Rabbis, and
   1-23  he has been Rabbinic Chairman of the Houston Kashruth Association;
    2-1  and
    2-2        WHEREAS, He has written several learned books including five
    2-3  volumes of Torah Concepts:  The Source of Jewish Values; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, Rabbi Radinsky has been the recipient of several
    2-5  communal awards including the Heritage Award from Israel Bonds,
    2-6  the Mae L. and Edmund M. Hecht Rabbinical Presentation from the
    2-7  Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, and the Scholarship Grantor
    2-8  Award from Z.O.A.; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-10  74th Legislature, hereby congratulate Rabbi and Mrs. Joseph Radinsky
   2-11  on their 18th anniversary with United Orthodox Synagogues in Houston;
   2-12  and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  them as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
