No. 56 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great 1-3 pleasure in recognizing the new Lindale High School as it 1-4 celebrates its opening with an Open House and Dedication 1-5 to be held on January 22, 1995; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The new $10.3 million facility combines some very 1-7 special features; the front entrance opens into a skylighted 1-8 commons area that turns into a cafetorium which will seat 700 1-9 and will be a gathering area for the students; it has three 1-10 serving lines; and 1-11 WHEREAS, The new building has other special features such as 1-12 a nurse's office and sick room that does not require a student 1-13 to go through the office area; the same is true for the assistant 1-14 principals' and counselors' offices; the lounge for the teaching 1-15 staff of around 60 is in the front of the building and includes 1-16 a kitchen area and a phone room; and 1-17 WHEREAS, The school library has a skylighted reading area 1-18 and a lecture area that seats almost 100; it will be available 1-19 to the community for special events or combined lectures; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The new gymnasium is really three gyms in one when 1-21 the bleachers are pushed against the wall; there is a parquet 1-22 floor in the gym which should be cheaper and easier to maintain 1-23 than the standard wooden floor; and 2-1 WHEREAS, A separate science wing houses six laboratories and 2-2 an automatic fire door to separate it from the rest of the school; 2-3 and 2-4 WHEREAS, The academic area is a two-story wing and includes 2-5 an elevator needed to help those with disabilities; the new 2-6 edifice promises to be a building in which all activities can be 2-7 handled easily; now, therefore, be it 2-8 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-9 74th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Lindale Independent 2-10 School District on the opening of its magnificent new high school; 2-11 and, be it further 2-12 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-13 school as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate. 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 President of the Senate 2-16 I hereby certify that the above 2-17 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-18 on January 19, 1995. 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Secretary of the Senate 2-21 ______________________________________ 2-22 Member, Texas Senate
