1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 James Pruett Espy III
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
1-6 of Fort Davis in mourning the untimely loss of James Pruett Espy III
1-7 who died November 17, 1994, at the age of 16; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Born September 22, 1978, in Alpine, Jim Tre was a
1-9 sophomore at Fort Davis High School and an outstanding golfer who
1-10 competed on the district champion and regional qualifying Fort Davis
1-11 team last year; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Active in many facets of campus life, Jim Tre also
1-13 was the starting defensive end and receiver for the football team
1-14 this past season; he was planning to play basketball for the Indians
1-15 and would have been the leader of the golf team next spring; and
1-16 WHEREAS, An avid hunter and top-notch high school athlete,
1-17 Jim Tre was a talented and popular student who was beloved by his
1-18 classmates and teachers at Fort Davis High School; and
1-19 WHEREAS, Intelligent and warmhearted, he will long be
1-20 remembered for his engaging personality, his wisdom, and his sense
1-21 of humor; and
1-22 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Jim Tre was a member of the
1-23 Presbyterian faith; and
2-1 WHEREAS, Respected in the school and in the community for
2-2 his many accomplishments, Jim Tre was an exemplary individual who
2-3 gave unselfishly of his time to others and who was devoted to his
2-4 parents, brother, and sister; and
2-5 WHEREAS, A source of pride and joy to many, Jim Tre lived his
2-6 life to the fullest, and he leaves behind memories that will be
2-7 treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore,
2-8 be it
2-9 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-10 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
2-11 family of James Pruett Espy III: his parents, Jim Espy, Jr., and
2-12 Sally Espy; his brother, Joe Espy; his sister, Mandy Lyn Espy; his
2-13 paternal grandparents, J. P. Espy, Sr., and Pansy Espy; and his
2-14 maternal grandmother, Kathryn Hardy; and, be it further
2-15 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-16 members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
2-17 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
2-18 in memory of James Pruett Espy III.
