1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 F. F. Medrano, Jr.
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
1-6 of Dallas in mourning the loss of F. F. "Pancho" Medrano, Jr., who
1-7 died January 18, 1995; and
1-8 WHEREAS, The son of Esperanza Medrano and F. F. Medrano, Sr.,
1-9 he came from a strong family with roots that were deeply entrenched
1-10 in the community and was born on October 24, 1941; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Pancho Medrano was a dear friend to all of Dallas;
1-12 he was employed with Vought for 28 years and served as
1-13 Vice-President of United Auto Workers Local 848; and
1-14 WHEREAS, Advocating economic equity for the people of Dallas
1-15 and across Texas, he served as President of the Labor Council
1-16 for Latin American Advancement; and
1-17 WHEREAS, A union activist who fought, marched, and pleaded
1-18 for change, Mr. Medrano was an advisor and confidant to many
1-19 elected officials and community leaders; and
1-20 WHEREAS, Dedicated to the youth of his community, Mr. Medrano
1-21 coached many sports activities; and
1-22 WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of his community,
1-23 Mr. Medrano will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his
2-1 union, and his political activities and causes; and
2-2 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, he was a member of Cathedral
2-3 Santuario de Guadalupe Catholic Church; and
2-4 WHEREAS, He leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment that
2-5 can not be equaled and that will remain cherished by all those who
2-6 loved him and worked with him; now, therefore, be it
2-7 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-8 74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
2-9 of his family: his wife, Socorro Morales Medrano; his son and
2-10 daughter-in-law, Frank Medrano III and Audrey Medrano; his daughter
2-11 and son-in-law, Virginia Coronado and Martin Coronado; his sons,
2-12 Adam and Carlos Medrano; his daughter, Mia Medrano; his father,
2-13 F. F. Medrano, Sr.; his brothers, Robert, Ricardo, and
2-14 Rolando Medrano; his sister, Pauline Medrano; and his four
2-15 grandchildren; and, be it further
2-16 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-17 members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
2-18 the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
2-19 do so in memory of F. F. "Pancho" Medrano, Jr.
