    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Parr who recently celebrated the
    1-4  momentous occasion of their 50th anniversary by renewing their
    1-5  wedding vows with their family and friends at a barbecue luncheon
    1-6  held at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and
    1-7  Jeanne Parr; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Susie Gertrude McNiel became the bride of Lloyd Parr
    1-9  in late fall of 1944 in a ceremony in the First Baptist Church of
   1-10  Rosenberg; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Three days after they were married, Lloyd left to
   1-12  join the United States Armed Forces and fight in the Pacific
   1-13  Theater; he was in the amphibious force in Okinawa when the war
   1-14  with Japan ended; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, When he came home, they set up a home and raised a
   1-16  family; they were blessed with one daughter and five sons; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Loving, loyal, and kind, Sue and Lloyd have been
   1-18  exemplary parents and their children, Dorcas, Jimmie, Bobby,
   1-19  Maurice, Jeff, and Rocky have led successful lives; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, For half a century Mr. and Mrs. Parr have shared
   1-21  a strong and lasting marriage filled with many happy times and
   1-22  cherished family memories; built on a foundation of mutual love,
   1-23  trust, and support, their life together has been a source of joy
    2-1  and inspiration for a great many people; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-3  74th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Parr
    2-4  on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary and extend to
    2-5  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-7  them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
