    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                             J. H. Robbins
    1-5        WHEREAS, The citizens of Comanche and Idalou mourned the
    1-6  passing of well-known community leader J. H. "Herb" Robbins, who
    1-7  died January 11, 1995, at the age of 94; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The esteemed gentleman will be remembered with
    1-9  gratitude for his important contributions to the citizens of his
   1-10  community; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, An adopted Texan, Herb was born on December 6, 1900,
   1-12  in Mississippi; he married Allie Scott on December 21, 1924, in
   1-13  Idalou, and the devoted couple was blessed with a long and happy
   1-14  life together until her death in 1974; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A former member of the Southland School Board,
   1-16  Mr. Robbins took an active interest in civic affairs and had
   1-17  also served as a county commissioner; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A devout Christian who lived his faith in his daily
   1-19  life, Mr. Robbins was a deacon in the First Baptist Church and
   1-20  a member of the Masonic Lodge; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and sound judgment will be deeply
   1-22  missed by those who knew and loved him; his memory will continue
   1-23  to live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends;
    2-1  now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-3  74th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-4  family of J. H. "Herb" Robbins:  his sons, Billy James and
    2-5  Delbert Ray; his daughter, Patsy Nell Lofton; and his seven
    2-6  grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-8  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
    2-9  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
   2-10  it do so in memory of J. H. "Herb" Robbins.
