    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  recognize William P. "Bill" Wright, Jr., for being named Outstanding
    1-4  West Texan by the Texas Association of Business and Chambers of
    1-5  Commerce; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, This signal honor has been presented for more than
    1-7  20 years; it was originated by the former Texas Chamber of Commerce
    1-8  and its founding regional chambers; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The award is bestowed on those who have given a
   1-10  lifetime of service to the community and the region and is limited
   1-11  to outstanding business leaders; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Bill Wright founded Western Marketing, Incorporated,
   1-13  a local petroleum marketing company which he sold to his employees
   1-14  in 1990 after a 35-year career with the firm; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, He has served as President of the Texas Oil
   1-16  Marketers Association and Vice-President of the Petroleum Marketers
   1-17  Association of America; he is on the board of directors of ENCORP
   1-18  Production, WESTICO Energy, Incorporated, and DGI, Incorporated; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, A former Chairman of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce
   1-20  and former President of the Abilene School Board, Mr. Wright was
   1-21  named Citizen of the Year in 1990; he was named Outstanding Young
   1-22  Citizen in 1968; now, therefore, be it
   1-23        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-1  74th Legislature, hereby congratulate William P. "Bill" Wright, Jr.,
    2-2  for being selected Outstanding West Texan by the Texas Association
    2-3  of Business and Chambers of Commerce; and, be it further
    2-4        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
    2-5  as a token of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
