No. 130 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Laredo's Catholic schools and the participants in 1-4 the 1995 Catholic Schools Week which takes place January 29 1-5 through February 4; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The Catholic schools of Laredo have had a powerful 1-7 and positive influence on the lives of innumerable students and 1-8 their families and communities; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Emphasizing Christian values and strong moral 1-10 principles, Saint Augustine High School, Saint Augustine 1-11 Elementary School, Blessed Sacrament School, Our Lady of 1-12 Guadalupe School, Saint Peter's Memorial School, Mary Help 1-13 of Christians School, and Christ the King School are widely 1-14 recognized as first-rate institutions with sound academic 1-15 curriculums and well-disciplined, high achieving students; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The schools consistently aim at providing 1-17 resources, programs, and experiences that inspire excellence 1-18 in student performance, and the students are proud of the fine 1-19 education they receive; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The celebration of Catholic Schools Week is an 1-21 opportunity for all who have attended the schools to express 1-22 gratitude for the high standards the schools uphold and for the 1-23 excellent educational opportunities they provide; now, therefore, 2-1 be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 74th Legislature, hereby commend Laredo's Catholic schools 2-4 for their success and extend best wishes to them on the joyous 2-5 occasion of Catholic Schools Week; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-7 them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-8 ______________________________________ 2-9 President of the Senate 2-10 I hereby certify that the above 2-11 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-12 on February 1, 1995. 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 Secretary of the Senate 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Member, Texas Senate
