No. 133 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, School counselors are employed in public and 1-3 parochial schools to help students reach their fullest potential 1-4 as human beings; and 1-5 WHEREAS, School counselors are concerned with students being 1-6 better able to understand themselves and their abilities, strengths, 1-7 and talents as they relate to career development and awareness; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Counselors help parents to focus on ways to further 1-9 the positive educational, personal, and social growth of their 1-10 children; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Counselors care about uniting teachers, parents, 1-12 administrators, special service personnel, and the community to 1-13 form an effective counseling program for students; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Counseling is seen as an essential part of the 1-15 educational process for all students as they adjust to our very 1-16 complex society; now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-18 74th Legislature, hereby proclaim the week of February 6 1-19 through 10, 1995, as National School Counseling Week in Texas; 1-20 and, be it further 1-21 RESOLVED, That the Senate extend its warmest welcome to the 1-22 members of the Texas Counselors Association when they come to 1-23 visit with their legislators in the Capital City on Tuesday, 2-1 February 28, 1995. 2-2 ______________________________________ 2-3 President of the Senate 2-4 I hereby certify that the above 2-5 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-6 on February 1, 1995. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 Secretary of the Senate 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Member, Texas Senate
